There are numerous camp grounds which cater for all types of vehicles and caravans. Bookings and camping permits are required for all national park camping. Located on Annya Rd access via Portland - Casterton Rd at Drumborg (7.5km for Princes Hwy). Large shady campsite, suitable for all types of camping including large motor homes. The area is packed with wildlife & bird life. A hidden delight!
Located on Naracoorte Rd. access via Casterton. Large camp area suitable for all types of camping including large motor homes. Access to a variety of walks & Bailey Rocks, an outcrop of huge green granite boulders which look like they have fallen from the sky. Four wheel driving.
Located on Thompson's Rd (via Princes Highway) Tyrendarra East (turn off 30km from Portland). Ideal spot for anglers, camp site set on the banks of the Fitzroy River surrounded by coastal scrub. Suitable for all types of camping, including large motor homes and caravans. Fees apply, collected daily on site. Short walk to beach.
Free camping , set on the banks of the Glenelg River. Large grassed area with plenty of shade, suitable for all types of camping. Canoes & small water craft can be launched into the river at this site. Keep a watchful eye for platypus who play in the river and local wildlife abound. Short walk to the centre of Dartmoor, with tree carvings in village green, general store, public toilets, cafe, pub and shops. In the park area admire the nursery rhythm wood carvings.
Located on Grubbed Rd access via Glenelg Highway between Strathdownie and Casterton. The Wilkin Reserve is well known for its spring wildflowers, including rare orchids and is also home to Mill Swamp, a large attractive body of water which contains many eels.
