THE PORTLAND CABLE TRAM
With a 7.4 km route meandering along Portland’s spectacular foreshore, the Portland Cable Tram is a must-do for any visitor to town. The Portland Cable Tram offers passengers a taste of yesteryear on board lovingly restored and modified saloon and grip cars.
Jump on board and learn all about Portland’s history from our passionate volunteers, while hopping on and off at your leisure to visit attractions including the Portland Maritime Discovery Centre, Power House Museum, World War 11 Memorial Lookout, Portland Botanic Gardens and our very own museum, including model trains and the largest private gemstone collection in the Southern Hemisphere.
Portland Cable Tram journeys run five times a day (seasonal – four trips during winter) and there are also no morning trams on ANZAC Day or Good Friday.
Tour times start at 10 am from the Cable Tram Depot at 2a Bentinck Street. A return trip takes approximately an hour and ticket holders can hop on and hop off at any of our six stops along the tram route.
