  1. A delight to walk, worth the drive!

Get to see four landscapes, Forest, River, Beach, Cliffs. Track is positioned to make the most of views, spectacular. See heaps of wildlife, both in the water and on the land. Great day walks too. Fantastic guidebook available at the Tourist Information Centres. Local accomodation places helpful with recommending day walks. Nice not to be on a crowded walk!

  2. Highlights of the GSWW

Some magical moments on the walk! Extraordinary scar trees in the Cobobbonee Forest; the most extensive and intact midden I’ve ever seen. We were supported by AUSWALK. The full 140 kilometres is quite an undertaking and we were pretty tired by the end, despite having trained and being fit. In awe of the people we met who were carrying full packs, camping rather than staying in guest houses and who were like us, not young! Special mention to our hosts, at Victoria House in Portland, Jo and Paul at Nelson Cottage and Dennis at Seaview Lodge Cape Bridgewater
